Forest Lawn Memorial Parks are the Cadillac of cemeteries. They are beautiful and ornate. The grounds are lush. There is beautiful statuary all over. There are four cemeteries in the Forest Lawn system here in California. Glendale was the first one. Many of the really big named stars are here like Jean Harlow, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Robert Taylor and Nat King Cole, just to name a few. Forest Lawns DO NOT like cemetery hunters. They discourage people from looking for stars graves and will ask you to leave if you are carrying books like Final Curtain or Permanent Californians. Do not bother asking any staff member for directions to stars graves. The Great Mausoleum is private and there are cameras watching the whole thing. There are four locked gardens with stars. Too bad, for most of the greats are here!

*This denotes that this is a private area. If you enter into these areas, you will be tresspassing.

**I have been informed that the Freedom Mausoleum now has cameras and is under watch by security and is being treated as private. Several people have been questioned and told to leave if they are not property owners or if they don't have a family member there. More of Forest Lawn's heavy handedness, I know, but apparently people have been complaining about tourists disturbing them while they are there mourning. PLEASE........be respectful of other people and their grief.

Also, the Great Mausoleum is PRIVATE. There are cameras all over and only property owners and family members are allowed in. You have been warned

Click HERE for a printer friendly list broken down by the different Forest Lawn sections. This is very helpful if you are going out for a day at FLG, since the park is so big!
